Issues with AI not using Artillery systems
Hi Eugen team,

While playing in skirmish mode on Hard difficulty, I've observed that the AI, both allied and enemy, is not utilizing artillery units in battle. Although the AI does bring these units into the game, they do not actively use them. I started noticing this behavior after the patch was released last week.

Could you provide any insights on what might be causing this unusual AI behavior?

+1, same here both modded and unmodded. Seems something broke, or maybe intentional? Sucks, AI used to be pretty spot on when it comes to counterbattery and fire support. It even managed to use smoke when counterattacking every so often too.
I've never stopped having artillery snipe my AT/AA units against the AI. The frequency of their strikes seems to have pulled back maybe a small amount but their accuracy is more amazing than ever.
Odd that yours isn't deploying any at all

For me tends to be more hit or miss, sometimes they'll call in artillery and use it other times theyll call it in and they wont, iirc depends on recon
I assume you tried against either hard or normal AI , very hard and hardest AI arty snipes any unit it sees.
As said before, Hard and above will actively pick things off if you don’t move, and will counter battery you occasionally.

In my case, I only play with highest diff AI, it rarely used arty and air below the two highest diffs even before this issue.

It also takes forever to start using arty on 1v1s even after I've deployed my entire arty tab and am in the process of shelling everything that moves.

Though after playing a few rounds against it yesterday, I've noticed that the issue may be map and game mode specific. The AI seems to behave normally in some maps, and in destruction mode (at least on the map I played). Does the AI work off navmesh scripting on maps for this stuff, or something?

Not sure how AI works but problem might be about maps as destruction uses diffirent maps because layout of vp's are diffirent which makes them diffirent. I would say no arty use may be about range change. Maybe AI isn't bugged but silent nerfed or something?
