It's definitely not our PCs or our connections, but the new update, because it even happens when playing back the replay of the match with the stuttering, and only started happening yesterday.
You can send us a replay describing the issue directly to support at eugsupport@eugensystems.com
We need as much information as possible, such as:
- whether the camera is stuck during the freeze or, on the contrary, whether you can move it but everything else freezes
- whether the camera was placed in a specific location on the map (zoomed in on a building, moving vehicle, etc.)
- whether there was a specific camera movement
- whether this occurs in replays of games with large numbers of players and/or AI
You can also send us any information you think would be useful to help us identify the problem.
Best regards,
The freeze goes like this: I just play the game as normal in 10v10 multiplayer. Completely randomly the game freezes PC for a good 5 seconds, can't even alt tab during that time. Then I get a texture streaming bug that makes everything look like a 2x2 texture, it starts loading textures again and everything speeds up. Can't give orders as I assume it's syncing back in. When that's done the game resumes as normal.
Sometimes it happens once during match, sometimes it's a lot. It's completely random. I thought it might've been my GPU dying or something, but the temps look fine and it only happens in this game after the update.
"freeze" is a game played completely randomly at a random time, freeze without errors without any kind of "crash report", and after a few seconds the operating system freezes completely (caps keyboard interrupts and even ctr+alt+del do not work out) (I managed to restart the ctr+shift+win+ driver a couple of times and once after a characteristic beep, the monitor even managed to blink, but the system did not return to normal) and then you have to turn off the power supply only
the graphics are at the maximum (now I've set it to the minimum for verification), I have an RTX 3070 and i7-9700KF with 32GB RAM, all updates are the latest, both Windows 11 and NVIDIA drivers, I checked memtest v11.2 memory and no errors, I also checked FurMark to make sure that the system cooling is guaranteed to be good
UPD: now, with minimal graphics settings, I did not experience "hanging" during the entire 10-10 all time hour match, although other players showed them over the voice channel (but they "run on" unlike me), so there may be a graphical "bug" somewhere in the between low and high settings (but this is just a guess :) ; at least it can be used as a "workaround" for a temporary solution, but you have to play like a Google map :-)
UPD2: noop, the minimum settings don't fix these "hanging", it happens anyway :-(
UPD3: I did a few dumps through procdump.exe at the time of the hang problem (it was possible only through WinRM :) and uploaded the files to Gdrive[drive.google.com]
Also, in each case, an error is logged in the Windows log.
UPD5: My nvme drive (with OS) was not of high quality and probably could not cope with multiple simultaneous downloads of small files, in any case, it finally went out of service and was replaced with another one. Now, after the freeze game (they continue), but my computer can go "off the peak" and does not hanging. Although the problem of game freezes is still relevant, and who knows, it will unfreeze or crash again.
I haven't identified anything specific that happens - in my latest game it was 4v4 vs. AI and I had just killed a unit with a recon unit, no more than 30 seconds into the game, when it happened. The other two crashes I've had occur were several minutes into the game each. Running on linux with proton.
EDIT: My friend also has had issues with this. We're both on Nvidia driver 565.77. My friend who is on an older version of nvidia is not having this issue (~550), so this might be an nvidia driver issue.
