2b9 "Vasilek" direct fire capability

As the name suggests, 2B9 could have some direct fire capability at close range to be able to defend itself while not on fire mission

It does. 1400 metres.

All non baseplate artillery has a direct fire range of less than 1800 metres.

The Vasilek does not have direct-fire capability, because it's a mortar. Not sure why or how you expect a mortar to fire straight ahead in a horizontal angle.

I'll stand corrected, then. I did a quick search of "2b9 vasilek direct-fire" and only saw vids of the mortar firing in a parabolic trajectory.

Well it has an artillery carriage not a base plate. All the pact mortars with the split rail carriage can shoot direct to around 1200-1400 metres ingame. Vaslik does not I believe get a heat round unlike the 120 mm mortars. And so does not have an AT ability.

To be fair when I first saw the Vasiik in game I thought it was broken/bugged with it's rate of fire only to discover it's a fancy clip loaded mortar lol.
