I don't think it would increase queue times because it is probably highly likely there will be at least 1 NATO and 1 PACT player at any given time in the search. Presuming the game doesn't completely die on launch.
PLEASE WARSAW PACK VS NATO RANKED GAMES
The main reason why I don’t like to play 1v1
Yea same... things as they stand don't make sense: they try to make the game pretty historically accurate for a cold war fight (within reason for the sake of gameplay) yet you can't even have the right sides for 1v1... any then they design maps that are the same for 1v1 AND 10v10 fights.
The maps are not great for 10v10 and playing WARSAW v. WARSAW or NATO v. NATO 1v1 in a game that is otherwise pretty historically accurate is immersion breaking when my T80 gets attacked by a HIND or my Apache gets torn apart by a pivads....
Damned if we do and damned if we don't right now.
It would be such a simple programming fix to have have a "historical mode: warsaw vs. nato only" checkbox for 1v1....
...in the event that there are not that many people online, they can just uncheck the box...
Please listen to us Eugen!
But 10v10 NATO VS NATO and PACT VS PACT is good.
Sorry, I don't understand your point.
I am not saying it SHOULDNT be allowed, I am saying there should be an option to check a box if you want by wait for an opponent from the opposite side... surely they makes sense? That way anyone can play whorvervthry want...
Yea but neither side knows what map it is, so it forces you to keep your deck balanced... Why is that a bad thing?
Well it eliminates about 3/4s of the deck in the game because they aren't S tier and can't play every map equally.
Hhmmmm.... I guess so.... I thought you were more meaning does the map have open spaces or just a bunch of house to house fighting.... armor hvy vs infantry hvy.... but even then every deck lets you have a wide variety of infantry and at least some armor... and the ones that don't have a a lot of armor tend to have a lot of anti-tank infantry... Could it be that you have one particular inflexible play style that requires a certain mix of terrain and units to work?
All divisional issues of balance are cancelled and it becomes a true match of wits between the antagonists.
I think this is probably the pinnacle of 1v1 skillwise - and should definitely be included in any real "Ranked" competition for that very reason.
So, I reckon that it is a logical decision on the part of Eugen, to allow for any combination of divisions in Ranked.
