How did enemy find my FOB despite never sending any units even close to it?
I just played a game where my FOB and the FOB of a guy next to mine got pinpoint destroyed despite no enemy units ever coming close to them. I was quite suspicious but watched a replay before making any judgement because it could've been a well placed recon infiltration but nope, no enemy unit ever came close to our FOBs yet they both got precision striked. How is this possible? If people are cheating the devs need to punish them.

I've seen this a couple of times since I started replaying after last patch.

Some players will use the sound exploit to listen to artillery move around. Sometimes you just get lucky aiming at arty that they had shooting near a FOB. I did see a FOB on my side get taken out by an MLRS though without any explanation though, so who knows.

I suspect there is no single answer.

I presume it's a mix of sound whoring, firing from fobs, educated guessing, cheating via friends on opposite teams and potentially some form of exploit/hacking but I'd hope the latter is rare.

Sound IS a valid technique
I got 3 FOBs last game just by following MLRS's
They guided me right to their nearest FOB
I don't think its an exploit or a bug.
Its funny, but if the enemy is using sound for counter-battery the towed artillery becomes much harder to kill. Because it's almost silent and moves just fast enough to escape most of the damage.
Wonder it that's by design

1. sound bug...i mean feature
2. having 2 accounts, 1 on each team...
3. being in the room with someone on the other team
4. straight up cheating

Yeah, that's total BS.

I get the sound may be relevant if you are having a close battle and, say, a tank goes behind a building. But this shouldn't happen across the map. The obvious solution is to tie fog of war sound to optic range.

Why would the devs allow something like this? That's borderline map hacks

Or a feature

maybe because in real life you would have fire control radars relaying this type of information?

I dont really feel sorry for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ getting wrecked.

You have the counter battery smart order that simulates fire control radars irl ♥♥♥♥♥♥. What fire control radars don't do irl is magically let you hear a vehicle engine 20 miles away and go "hmmmm yes they stopped for 1 minute this must be an enemy FOB". What's the point of using recon to spot FOBS if you can just exploit a game bug because you're ♥♥♥♥ at the game?

It's a rarity, but I have had a guy who without question was cheating.

In a 4v4, we had 3 FOBs are were all destroyed in the first 5 minutes of the match.

But, I don't think cheating is a big issue in this game. There's many different variables that could've comprised the position of your FOBs.

One thing people tend to think is cheating is when they set their FOB into or close to a forest (tree line)

If you do this the forest or tree line will be cut out where the FOB touches it. This is visible to any player on the map. So even if you put it along the forest border it will cut out a piece of the forest on that area.

If you're up against good players who know the maps quite well this is really easy to spot. You dont see the FOB itself but rather a blank square in the middle of a forest or a huge part of the forest's tree line missing, depending on where they placed it.

Good players will start shooting at these areas making you think like: BRO WTF
And then there is the sound issue as well. So the progress is the following:

1. Locate unnatural missing pieces within the enemies area figure where the FOB are located
2. Scroll in to these places and listen for arti firering close by. Sound locate them, mark them.
3. Start mass shooting at the aimed FOB and enemy artilerry.

If all your logistics vehicles keep going to the same spot and then emerging from the same spot its a bit of a give away.

I think they don't know how to do it.
