accuracy question
does accuracy improve when getting closer to the target? is there any formula to get an intuition for that? also is it possible to order units to hold fire until the target is close enough to guarantee a hit? thanks a lot

Some weapons' accuracy are related to the target's distance and some aren't. For example, rifles, tank guns and auto-cannons shoot more accurately when the target's closer. While infantry machine guns and manpads have a constant accuracy.
You can manually turn off(and on) your unit's weapon system by pressing on the unit's weapon icon or by pressing the "H" key.

Thanks. How do I know if that specific weapon gets an accuracy boost and what is the math behind it?
I've seen a hot key labeled "efficient shot" and was wondering if there is a way to set a units fire behaviour so that they don't start shooting at max range but I guess this has to be micro managed.

That is the entire purpose behind "Efficient Shot". ;)

With that setting, you can tell your unit to hold fire until it has at least an X% chance to-hit and a Y% chance to penetrate armor.

Those are hidden stats. I know them only because I make mods. And I don't really know the formula behind this. Sorry, mate.

all is hidden because its too much ridicule for being mentally safe to know it

Where do I find that setting?

Yes but pressing that key does nothing in game. Is this mentioned in some manual or guide that you could point me to? pressing that key does nothing, how do you use it?

I'm away from my PC right now, but IIRC, in-game when you have a unit selected, you can click on the little "Gear" icon in the lower-right menu which will expand the Smart Orders menu. It should have options for "Efficient Shot", which lets you choose at what percentage chance To-Hit / To Penetrate your unit will fire its primary weapon.

This is a game mechanic that was carried over from Steel Division 2, so in lieu of WARNO getting its own game manual, you can look up SD2 guides for more information on the mechanic.
stela 2 have 37% accurcy even on 500 m. and on max range same. I think this is inconsistent the wrong way. The armory explains the difference between AP and HE once again, but that does not pair with accuracy. I think a moving helicopter that crosses the position of a soldier should be a possible hit for a strela soldier when its just close up.

this way they can retain their b.value position and still get gimmick

Which units have that option? I couldn't find it. All I know is that there's some hotkey called "efficient shot". Maybe it was removed?

Here's the accuracy bonus map, it applies to all weapons (maybe except for some misssiles, I forgot) in the game.

RangeModifiersTable =
[
(0.05, 1000),
(0.17, 100),
(0.33, 75),
(0.50, 50),
(0.67, 25),
(1.00, 0),
(9999, 0) // Au cas où on vise au delà de la portée pour certains calculs pas de bonus de precision
]

This options for "Efficient Shot" - i dont see it

how that rangemodifier apply to maxrange and accuracy ?

about missile im not sure than accuracy of the missile is the same as the locking time
some missile canot be controled before a large distance as for exemple anti tank are often 50m and manpads probably hundreds
