CO OP or SOLO is far better and diverse than in SD2
There is videos of CO OP on YOU TUBE.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpwkdBZPKEw
During an engagement, each player selects the battle-groups to control in the engagement, it's also possible to switch individual sub groups from a battle-group between teammates. For example, if player X is controlling a mechanized division and player Y is controlling an armored division, player Y can drag over a group of tanks for player X to control. I really like this because it gives players the freedom for buddies to control what units they want.
My friend and I started a co-op campaign, he generally controls arty, logicstics and overall supporting roles, while I usually control units for offensive.
Played quite a few hours of Army General and enjoy it both in Co-op and solo.
Army general can also be played in PvP which would be a lot of fun, you just need a dedicated group to play.
I do believe Army general only allows for 2 total players in co-op or 2v2 in PvP.
Edit. just watched the video posted above. That does a whole lot better than I did expaining AG.
Only complaint I have with AG is we are unable to select the time of day for battles like how we can when hosting a match. Some of the lighting for some of the maps are so bad on certain times of day. Just wish we can toggle certain times of day.
