ill played WIC too and many other RTS games but Warno has a steep learning curve.
Good thing is, that even multiplayer is super forgiving when you play 10v10 where everyone is accepted : )
You can grab it and decide within two hours if it is for you and if not, just refund it with the Steam policy.
It has a learning curve, definitely, however most of it boils down to micro and general concepts like killzones, combined arms warfare, and anti-air networks. Usually the microing specifically is the problematic part, Eugen's unit AI tends to be occasionally like herding cats, especially when it comes to tanks.
Will highlight however as a long-time WiC fan, WARNO is not like WiC, that's what Broken Arrow will be like, but WARNO is nonetheless a great game.
yes, but be sure to play a skirmish or something with premade divisions. Other wise you can spend two hours in the armory and it'll seem like a blink....
However,
As much as I enjoyed World in Conflict, I do prefer the gameplay and mechanics of Warno.
Warno has some of the best gameplay in a RTS I have ever played. Large scale battles in correlation with the cohesion system makes each match feel dynamic and different from the last.
The cohesion system adds a layer of intensity that other RTS games just don't have.
Overall, Warno is 100% worth the buy.
I have been working on some side concept work for Warno as a side project that I might have to finish up and post. The overall presentation of the game is very lack luster and I think it could be done much better IMO. (Music, cinematics, UI, menu etc.)
Better than any game of the WG series. Only SDII can rival in its specific niche.
I'll also add, as much as I enjoyed WiC, this game plays VERY differently. There's a huge amount of available units, and unlike WiC, the factions are not just mirrors of each other. (There also aren't any "special ability on cool-down" buttons that WiC had.)
MP - Warno
