Does anyone have any tips for how to win the first battle? Like actually cap the points and win? I have tried everything i can think of.

You can't. And you are not supposed to. Those poor armored fools will have to fall back until reinforcements arrive.

So then how do i keep that division alive, the AI just keeps attacking until they instantly dissolve from bad morale

Well they are a single armored division against 5x their forces. I try to fight the battle and cause as much damage as possible, then run back as far as possible as soon as i get a turn. And keep driving back until they meet reinforcements.

Hold until armegedon. Just get total victories. By end of first turn you must retreat to Alsfeld (as you do in Bruderkrieg) and than improvise. Just remember to do same with center and south too. Center is better as (if I recall correctly) they get a AH-1 battalion

So i should not worry about capping points then? Just kill the enemy so that i win by morale?

You can try capping points in that battle, but good luck not getting overrun. Once any tanks fire a shot, they immediately are targeted by rocket artillery.

Actually, I won first few battles in Rebs Frago mod but it was full of pressing the pause button and reloading. It is possible to win but you need to use terrain on your favour and play defensively. Now I have turn six and my 11 ACR, although baddly decimated, still holds the line along with the PzGren battalions in Alsfeld.

Fulda's initial clashes are manageable but you need to change your mindset. Instead of push you need to stay in cover, maneuvre around city blocks and bite East Germans from the sides.
