Why ranked is such an extreme experience?

I have a crazy amount of ranked experience - 40 games.
Never played ranked in any other wargame games.

Yet, the game consistently puts me against a top 100 players.
And that's well before 2 min timer.

Of course, I loose badly.
But then, the game always gives me players with literally zero ranked experience.
Often, they don't even buy units, or move them much.

Its almost impossible to lose those types of games, so I get 1-2 easy victories.
And, the game throws me into the top 100 lions pit again.

Why is it such an ALL OR NOTHING deal?
I though the tacked is supposed to find me an opponent of similar stats, not the extreme ends of the spectrum?

A about 500
The game gave me 2 guys with 0 ranked games.
I won easily, they barely moved units at all.
My rank got to upper 400
And then I got opponent with 200 and I lost badly
Next one - rank 63 - lost badly
Next one - rank around 160 - lost badly.

So, does my rank has any meaning?
A lot of these guys have thousands of hours in Europe escalation, RD, SD and so on.
How does a newby like me supposed to have any chance to learn something?

there is no active players in ranked, people who are high ranked are wrongly prouded.
when they disclose how many active players are daily in ranked you will understand why its useless
there is not even as many players in warno daily, than the amount of grandmasters in many games. think about that

I did play 10v10, but it gets old fast
I've been watching tournaments ever since SD 1. As well as SD 2 and Warno
I am convinced that all Eugene games are designed for 1v1. That's were the balance is.
But I've always been intimidated by Ranked games.
I am trying to overcome my fears now, but the ELO system definitely wants me to stop trying, and just go play something else instead.

I think its lack of players. Not many people playing, and many better players have alternate accounts so you can play against someone 400th when in reality they are in top 20.

Why would anyone have alternate accounts? Why would anyone pay X-times for the same game when the player base is so low in numbers. It does not make any sense.

If you dont wanna play ranked, create a 1v1 game and play for fun with others.
Also, there are many 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4 lobbies open.

No clue why but people do have alternate accounts, people do reset their profiles, etc. Stupid but maybe to preserve their current elo.

You can reset your account? How? You can change your visible nickname but that does not change your match history. I still do not see the point.

I would like to look at it.

You can reset your account stats. they are apparently not saved anywhere else than your personal computer. I don't know where it is though. You can find topics about it here or on reddit.

I dont have the statistics. Just watched some peoples' streams/videos and they alternate. I dont think anyone have such data.

Because the playerbase is way too small for such a system is ranked. You need 5-10k+ anked players to have 10-20 players in the same time online in the same level as you. Even when WG RD was on the top never were more than some hundreds of active ranked player. Most of player never had used this option.

playing against better players make you learn faster, just watch replay what happened and how enemy played so you can know better what you should do next time.

better = comparison.

How much better? If the opponent is much much better, hundred of ranks above you, then there's nothing you can learn from it, plus people have ceilings.
Maybe lil` Johnny is at his skill cap at rank 600, is he not allowed to enjoy the game anymore?

This argument is so bad it hurts, and it's brought up everywhere, even in rl sports.
Like being a rookie boxer and having Tyson as your constant opponent, very fun eh? You learn so much by being knocked out in 2 punches.

And OP is right, if there aren't enough players then don't fkning match me.

10v10 are unplayeble in my opinion and shall not be in the game at all, i can't even use a f*king plane in a proper manor beacouse AA is everywhere but hey how about to use them all at once? ok! 80% are shut down and never get back! But how about a tank? Nope, ATGMS evrywhere...Ok then infantery will do the job for me let's make a little push and then the all mighty arty is falling on me and i don't even wanna talk about leavers, even before the match starts. It's getting hard to digest all of this over time in 10v10, but then i finded 1v1 , 2v2 up to 5v5 and the game has sudenly becomed way more enjoyble and balanced. I don't getit why devs are focused on 10v10 and there are absorbed almost all the players instead of 1 up to max 5v5.

This game will die anyways when Broken Arrow comes out beacouse devs are preocupied to make fancy posts every week instead of something solid about the game itself.
