Artillery advice?
So... im really struggling when playing vs russian artillery (grad, smerch etc..) ill be fighting in a city or town with my infantry, aa and tanks spread out and without warning i get salvo'd from 4 different directions by the arty from multiple players working together. nowhere to run to. Instant army loss. Ive tried counter arty but nato doesnt seem to have an equivalent, and if i try they just relocate between shots. Not trying to bit*h about it, looking for a strategy.

Doing anything notable in a 10v10 will result in you getting plastered by 5 players on the other side.

Your only options are push forward so fast the barrage lands behind you, or withdraw all but a couple units to maintain vision of your front and let them flatten the buildings you were in.

Eventually it will become second nature. And yes CB will usually fail against artillery. AA is much more vulnerable as they tend to be softer and not moved as much as the owner does not always notice they have fired.

Sneaking recon into the backline to spot directly is the most satisfying way to kill artillery short of running it over with a tank.

If the other team (usually redfor) artillery spam in 10v10, hope you got a smart team that push hard to capture the control points. If so, your team will win despite having a lower K:D because you will roll faster than the enemy can reinforce because you already have hundreds points worth of unit more than the enemy team.

Bombing enemy arty is becoming more and more preferred to me.

You just need to edge hop the map to skip enemy AA.

Try to play normal game maybe ? Avoid 10v10 there is no strategy only fireworks. What do you expect with 20 players in total of 30k starting points on 6 players map

Eugen havent balanced 10v10 unfortunately. If you play that game mode then you wont get a balanced experience despite it being very popular, a better company would have given it some TLC and attention when releasing the game - Eugen arent that company.

You have to come to the conclusion that getting bogged down in urban fight is a losing proposition. Either have specialized tool that'll close out the fight fast enough for infantry to win fight faster than artillery can drop on you (enough rocket helicopters to overwhelm AA, or the new rocket pod BTR for the 56th, for example).

Or just don't go in there. Play armor/mechanized division and encircle such position, or even give up that 1pt urban zone and go for the 2pt open zone next to it (on Twin Cities, for example), then circle around for the 2pt open zone behind it for a 3pt VP lead that'll end the game in 20 minutes.

If you zoom into where an artillery piece is firing from you can hear it and follow the sounds while it drives around, once it stops wack it's nuts.

I'm sure a few people will get mad at me for suggesting this, buuuut... I don't care, I'd much rather slap the grad using cheese than spend 40-60 minutes of my life not having fun because the bulk of PACT players don't wanna learn how to play the game without using MLRS vehicles as a crutch.
