Edit: not to mention i only noticed the countdown had started when it had a minute and a half left. Wasn't checking the tiny "Launch" button that early.
One team tries to stack all good players and kick bad ones to get an ez win against the other randoms, that will join the lobby after them.
SBMM like in Age IV is missing in Eugen Games.
Funny thing was the testers of GoH would participate in tourneys, like the three most godly players/testers that eventually some became employees of the devs...And they tried to nudge the next tourney towards a cash prize but it never materialized.
These guys were next level, but the engine is so jank they basically just knew how to play through the GEM engine constantly messing stuff up. They knew stuff like hitting the projectile inside a Brummbar to make it blow up. All those dirty tricks.
You will eventually know every map well enough that it does not phase you I would guess.
Remember also that you CAN create groups within your battlegroup and depoy them pretty quickly.
I like to recommend everyone to play fair and that the host before starting the battle ask if all players are ready so everyone have a fair start.
It would be good if the devs implement a feature where all players have to press "ready"
and then the game timer start once all players are ready to go. ( just like in other games )
Not the nicest thing to do but nothing you can do about it. Pressing launch for a millisecond to trigger the timer at 3 minutes which will give you at least 3 minutes + the time your opponent needs to deploy, which granted isn't much in that case but at least something.
Also asking your opponent to wait can help.
Surrender + move on with life. Let Yamamoto have his victory. No skin off my nose.
