Army general too easy
Since the AI is a bit suicidal in its approach, and since both sides are more or less evenly matched, an average player can easily walk through any campaigns, I remember that in Red Dragon, the campaign was built in such a way that until end game, the enemy had an overwhelming force, and could loose 4 tanks for every one of your tanks, which compensated for the mental retardation of the AI and was fun.

But right now it's just too damn easy, attrit the AI push, repeat. This sense of "Oh ♥♥♥♥ I can't make a mistake and I better play good" that I loved in wargame campaigns is only present on the Nato side of Burderkrieg.

Could you maybe make a Very Hard mode in which the AI is hyper aggressive and has a buff in income + numbers?

As you can clearly tell, its difficult to make a game like this. But yes, I find myself winning most of my battles. What difficulty are you playing on?

Playing trained with NATO feels stupid at times. Yes I can win battles, but NATO is inferior to PACT units in every way. Even the standard PACT mechanized Infantry formations come with T80B tanks, that sweep through cities defended by Panzergrenadiers as if they weren't even there. I just now won a battle as NATO, where I defended the same old city map at Fulda. I got an ambush with 16 Leopard A1A1 tanks set up to take out 3 T80Bs and one scout BTR. I managed to do it, but lost 14 Leopard tanks, despite getting my first shots on target, having one flank and scouts all around. T80Bs alone make it frustrating to play against PACT.

I tried one campaign as PACT today, selected all T80Bs I could get, attack moved them to the enemy spawn points and lost only two of them, while completely wiping out the enemy army. It is that stupid.
So when you play PACT, you probably should play the hardest difficulty and not bring too many tanks, to not make it to easy. If you play NATO, I don't think the campaign is hard, but the battles are just frustrating.

Didn't played Highway 66 right?

NATO counter to T80 tanks is anti-tank air power.

There is a very good example of this.

In airlift campaign, if you play as nato, there is a PACT pawn with T80 tanks blocking a edge of the map flanking path.

You get leopard 1's and panzergrenadiers.

You cant break through with leopards. Not unless you are a micro genius.

But you get airpower! And they dont have AA.

Just TWO planes at start of the battle wipe out the entire soviet T80 armor push. And then you mop up the leftover BMP's with your own tanks.

So use airpower.

I notice the campaigns are set up in such a way that oyu always have tools to counter the opfor - you just have to use them right. Its like chess, really.

on the hardest difficulty im having a hell of a time in highway 66 playing as warsaw pact.

My personal experience as Nato is just sitting in buildings and forests, lining up Milans on every possible angle and watch as T-80s pop like pinatas left and right. I hardly use any other units, Jägers coming in as close seconds to ensure I have the numbers to hold off possible infantry waves, but beyond that it is just ATGMs all the way as Nato.

I agree it's too easy on NATO side (didn't play pact yet) - but my strategy is different.
I played Higway 66 and left hook on hard, I use either heavy tanks (Abrams, challanger, Leo 2) to hard counter T80B with a blob of tanks, they just need an occassional repair (T80U and such are a problem though), or just helis that massacre them.
Especially US helis just murder everything as the usual PACT AA just consist of individual strelas or iglas and they can't oneshot them, the german or british helis require micro and being careful.

And yes airpower works like a charm too, it's especially fun in combination with an MP company for lots of scout jeeps.

On the other hand - all other infantry is fairly uselsess, and I try to avoid using them. Same for artillery. In some cases if you are desperate in a specific area you can us the strategy described by Ahrima (Dragons work too besides MILAN) on defense, but I almost never attack without Helis, heavy tanks or airpower.

If I may ask what's your issue on this campaign?
Try to attrit and push enemy forces on the flanks of a major objectives, they will break in a few turns (still a lot of time ahah), after that you can encircle the main body of their army and cut they from their supply, from that point its over for the ai

Why though? The AI keeps sending its best units on the same roads over and over no matter the map or campaign, when I play the AI runs out of Abrahams so quick it's sad, it sends them 2 by 2 on the same path where I have one or two T80s ambushed and they keep sending those tanks until the road becomes a tank graveyard, the ai is a bit retarded

I'm like 3/4 the way thru highway 66 on NATO and I have yet to have any problems whiping T80s with Bradley's and Apaches. The west German formations are a little weaker but you can just stack like 4 pz. grens in a building and they will delete anything that comes at them. I really have only been using the leo 1s for ambushes and CQC. The leo 2s do well against the east Germans but struggle against T80s at range.

Honestly it's pretty easy tho the numerous Apaches and Abrams allow you to just run thru everything without much contest. I don't even really use the A10s unless a pioneer unit gets jumped by a tank div
