What's the deal with the T-80UD ?
How do you actually counter a T-80UD?

I have put 2 M1A1's against 1 T-80UD and they both died, dealing very little damage to the enemy T-80UD.

I know hellfires/tow's are good against them but on an assault I can't really use them as AA just shoot down anything that is nearby.

Nato atgms are insanely effective in this game, use long distance Hellfires, or TOW2 ambush, a couple MILAN2 also do the work perfectly, if you have Apaches in your deck, I'd advise always having one not too far from your tanks to deal with the T80UD

So?

You need to be close enough for the gun to do damage, so as always the solution includes smoke, flanking and crossfires. Also drop a pair GRADs on the blob, I was killing M1A1 (HA)s after doing that because they all took damage and were low cohesion.

Another counter is math, it costs 340 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ points, just attack anywhere else on the map, its probably empty. I do think the 119th is a broken division, but mainly because of its mix of tanks and AA. If the 119th player can just buy thors and T-80s, doesnt have to be UDs, then you're basically just ♥♥♥♥♥♥. I think the solution to stop sucking against 119th is to fight in better terrain. If the 119th player has to fight in a forest or city and use infantry then you have pretty much won, but you will lose control of the outskirts because you can never touch his tanks. Nerf that AA tab honestly

Apaches are scarily useful. In my last game, three Apaches I had killed 2500 points worth of units. You just have to micromanage them.

The most effective to take out super heavy tanks:

1. Flanking shots from ATGMs, especially Infantry who have Good Stealth and can survive a couple of shots from a tank.
2. Ambush them in Close Quarters, even weak AT weapons are deadly against side armor.
3. Tanks have Bad Stealth, so scout their position and hit them with Jets, especially low dropping Cluster Bombs and LGB - Laser Guided Bombs are super effective (the LGBs that drop two 13,5 HE damage Bombs one shot a T80UD).
4. Use 2 or more tanks from multiple angles. Make the t80 reaquire the target by smoking inbetween shots, even if you dont kill it outright, heavy suppression even on a t80ud makes it miss constantly.

Super heavies have an advantage over medium or light tanks, but its not as big as people think. With 2-3 french light AMX tanks you can slap single t80s around the map. even the heaviest tank can only shoot ever 6 or so seconds and can still miss, also they are slower and have a lower fuel range.

Your problem is that you put 2x M1A1 fighting front side a T-80UD.

Thanks like two Sherman's taking on a Tiger tank head on.
