Indicate unit strength on the unit card icon
Without memorizing all the unit variants in WARNO it can be hard to know the unit strengths at a glance, especially in the heat of battle and with new divisions. I would like to know how many soldiers my infantry squad has without digging into the stats. IMO it should have a number or other indicator on the unit card icon.

Also I think the space available in the unit card could be utilized better to convey what kind of unit type or transport we are dealing with. I don't care if my unit has a dude with beret or glasses. I want to quickly know the important stuff.

Your idea sounds pretty good to me, makes it easier to view the unit HP rather than to open up the stat sheets 1-by-1. You can put your suggestion for putting the unit Hp on the unit card in the official Eugen discord under the ‘UI-feedback’ section, rather than just only posting on the steam forum. The devs usually view the feedback on the discord there so there is a chance for some people’s suggestions to get implemented although it is usually a very small chance.

By strength I mean the number of soldiers or the HP of a tank. It has nothing to do with unit cost.

The "squares" at the bottom of the unit card shows how much strength (HP) the unit currently has when it is selected.

The ones in the armory and deployment UI. I think the available space in the card could be utilized better with regards to conveying the most important info about the unit. For example unit strength, type of weapons etc. A portrait on some vague background does not help a lot in identifying what type of unit it is.

Maybe it could be an option in the game to either show the type of cards we have today or a more generic stats based variant comprised of icons and numbers giving a quick glance of the most important characteristics of the unit.

Granted, but (hopefully) the player actually looked at the units' weapons, strength and so on BEFORE they chose to add that unit to their deck. ;)

Adding addition info to such a tiny portrait card sounds like a recipe for bleeding eyes and searing headaches.

What do you mean exactly?

Unit strength is usually indicated by cost or are color coded, blue labeled units are often the most resilient and toughest units. Bars on deployed units indicate overall health of that unit or squad and cohesion indicates that units overall combat effectiveness.

I think if you're looking for more detailed stats, such as weapon systems, accuracy, suppression, training etc, this is something you'll have to remember when putting your deck together.

Simply an indicator for HP (hit points for tanks, number of soldiers for infantry).

Having to remember all the unit stats was exactly what I was trying to address. Sometimes it is nice to quickly glean the most important stuff, without diving into the detailed unit stats. Especially when experimenting with new and unfamiliar divisions.

I'm not saying they should just add a bunch of stuff to clutter up the card. I just want the stuff they put on the card to actually tell me something useful. Like they do with the parachute icon for airborne units for example. I prefer some useful icons to a yearbook picture of some random soldier. It could be an optional thing in the settings.

Just click the card and see stats

I still don't understand what you mean about HP. HP is displayed on units in game.

And I also learned that you can pull up unit stats in game by clicking on their card.

I think he means to put the unit Hp on the small unit card which is the one that has the 3d images of the unit on it. He meant that having it display on the card rather just only in the stats sheet would be easier for him to view in the armoury rather than just manually clicking the unit 1 by 1 to open up each stat sheet.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Thanks, maybe I'll do that!
