Medium AI = AI has negative bonus.
AI levels higher than Hard have positive bonus.
Because if you always teamed up with the Hard AI - but didn't actually place any of your units on the map, simply spectating instead - then the Medium AI would get a buff in unit numbers (and starting points, iirc... possibly income too ), so it would out number and out perform the Hard AI in points.
Hard AI, afaik, is supposed to have been made more aggressive (similar to Very Hard and Hardest) but not sure if that's been implemented yet.
- Memory (More memory time when difficulty increase)
- Taking more risks
- Easy and VeryEasy have negative bonuses, medium and hard no bonuses, very hard and hardest income and unit availability bonuses
- Medium is balanced between defense and offense, hard and upper are mostly offensive
Like Shriker said, there is an automatic balance of gameplay, if you play 2v1 the solo team gets a +100% bonus for a fair game. So yeah if you always play with Pacts, and don't buy any units, NATO will always be the winner.
Medium was the most immersive and fun.
