He is not wrong. Cold War setting blows ass. Especially when in game scenarios are about to go live any minute now.

Its set in 1989 and thats why some more advanced units are not in the game.

I personally like that we use units that were actually a thing in the given timeframe.

And this is a good thing for several reasons: It makes it A LOT easier for the Devs to balance stuff. WGRD had soo many options in deckbuilding that i was basically impossible to balance out, ppl would combine T-34 Tanks from WW2 with T-90 and all kinds of cheese to make decks full of meatshields for cheap overwhelm-tactics.

WARNO is supposed to be about tactical choices and utilising combined arms, not spending 1000 hours with cheesy deckbulding to find something most players will be unprepared for.

I actually like the limited choices and the division system a lot. It gives each deck some distinct strenght and weaknesses and makes it important how you actually play those decks.

Ka-52 wasnt developed in 1989 in any kind.
T-90 in 1989 is just developing T-72 modernization project.

As if Russia had any juice left for a conventional conflict with NATO after 500+ days of struggeling in Ukraine. Even before Russia would not have been the slightest match for NATO, hell, probably even the Polish Army alone would have beaten them...

Nuclear, sure..., they could go nuclear but given the state of all the other parts of the russian armed forces i suspect the branch that is DESIGNED not to be used but to be a deterrent is in an even worse shape.

There is simply no way russia could finance all it has on paper on that budget. Navy is mostly wrecks apart from a few modern units, airforce exists mostly on paper, probably less than 200 planes and choppers that are actually serviceable, russian combat pilots do 10 flying hours per year on average (a small elite excluded).

Based on what we've seen from the russian armed forces any clash with NATO would be short and catastrophic for Russia in any case. I suspect they couldn't launch that many nukes and US missle defense has gotten better. A few cities in the west would be gone and Russia would cease to exist.

Of course noone in the West would like to actually put this hypthesis to the test, so Putin can still playact being a global power somewhat credible.

wtf u trying to prove me?
I only want to say that noone in west or russia want ww3. Yeah sure russian politicians may sound loud but as russian I can say all this words are empty. Ru government's 'Red lines' which west crosses over and over again became meme.
Moreover, your words prove even more that ww3 is a fantasy. (for the good of us all)

Hah. Isn't that exact same "deep thoughts" ze Germans had in 1941?
That's exactly what I'm afraid of: delusional, full of themselves amateurs with no academic knowledge of anything really , pushing "We are the best" narrative and thinking that they can take on Russia. Again.
Remember proverbs. Pride goeth before a fall.
Oh, and read more dude. History books preferably.

Man, most NATO countries sent MOST their working equipment to ukraine, and from what I'm seeing it's still not enough to push back Russia.
We, France sent almost half of our working 155mm artillery, and still the Russians outmatch ukr arty 3 to 1 (10 to one according to Zaluznhny (commander of the ukr army)) so take your ridiculous propaganda out of here.
UKR be like: "Help me!!! I'm winning"

No, ruSSians fight against NATO surplus older stuff, but putinians won't get it, like Kyiv.
Wow russia outnumber Ukrainian arty 3:1, WOW really impresive, when global superpower has WHOLE 3;1 adventage over poor country with a very little (accordning to russians) NATO support.

How many of you were such conquerors of Russia. Hitler, Napoleon... as they finished, read the books.you made me laugh about the Polish army, thank you.. It is obvious that the bloc is stronger than any one army. And the Russian army is not comparable to the Soviet army, there is no Warsaw bloc. But fortunately, nuclear weapons equalized all its owners.

So far single Ukrainian army did a damn well job. From Kyiev to near Crimea in a year. Quite nice doing of army from poor country with outdated (not any more) tactis and hardware. Or it is a stange act of good will from russians.
