WARNO

This or Steel division 2?
I played Steel Division 1 a while back and liked it. I see the 2nd is on sale now, though it has a lot of dlc. I prefer modern combat, so Warno peeked my interest.

I understand it is still in EA. I am just wondering how much content is in the game at the moment. And how re-playable is it at the moment. Are there multiple maps yet?

SD2 is better balanced and has more of everything.
WARNO has less content and a way more arcadey feel to it.

I play both, but SD2 tbh feels like a newer game with better/more mechanics lulz.

if you don't care much about graphics and sound get SD2.

Since you prefer modern combat, WARNO would be the way to go. As far as content, there's a bunch of maps, and an active MP community. For SP content, there's just skirmish against the AI, though the AI of late has been somewhat competent (especially compared to WGRD and SD2).
It suicides units down roads less often (they still do it plenty, just less often), but otherwise puts up a competent fight if you're a SP only kinda person.
SD2 feels better than WARNO but WARNO is a pretty solid game. Believe it or not I think WARNO has a good variety of maps even when compared to SD2s years of opportunity to have a lot of maps. However map making is very challenging and time consuming for Eugen so I think once WARNO is released new maps will slow to a trickle.

SD2 feels a lot better than WARNO because it's well balanced and things act the way you would expect. Not much stands out as un grog like.
SD2 interface and QOL features are light years ahead of SD1 as well.

WARNO is a little more gamey to please the red dragon crowd. For example in WARNO their are no special rounds, Vehicles simply have the round they need loaded and ready for any situation. WARNO though does have some more advanced features over SD2 that i'd love in SD2 and that is auto deployment of smoke on tanks. Unit behaviours are more advanced as well... you can set units to retreat from fights they think they cannot win automatically for example.

Im one of the few that prefer WARNO, because I'm really tired of WW2 Era, and love the Cold war era, with helicopters, guided missiles etc. It adds a lot to your strategy. As has been said by others there a little more Quality of life improvements in WARNO. But its not too groundbreaking, my personal opinion is the planes taking time to travel to the battlezone is much better in WARNO, as in SD2 they instantly appear, which is of course completely unrealistic and immersion breaking.
That being said, SD2 still is very good and worth a buy. It has as people say, a little more to it in ammo and depth in units.

Steel Division 2. I still feel that WARNO has potential though and the only reason to pick this atm over SD2 would be because you prefer modern warfare setting.

Plus its about make a huge step towards specialization and diversity of infantry by expanding traits and making them powerful like Warno.

With the sheer mass amount of infantry units. They can really get into some specialized variations. Infantry could only be so different with equipment, but this will change the game quite a bit imo.

I have been staring at the Warno store page, but I have most DLC for SD2 and with the idea all the highly detailed infantry will be more unique mechanically.

Warno is a lot better. SD2 is boring. Warno has better dynamics in multiplayer.

WARNO is the latest and will get better overtime, last patch was great. Another big patch coming been hinted.

They work for a better AI, there are tutorial missions, mechanics are more user friendly and have more QOL.

Also WARNO is more modern. In my opinion pick WARNO.

If you prefere "modern" stuff get Warno. Also check out Regiments(Single player only), maybe it is your type of game. Regards =)
