EDIT: After looking a bit deeper into the EIREL APS system, it would probably be too much of a mechanic hassle to implement outside of a extremely granular military-simulation.
The EIREL counters IR-guided missiles, but nothing else. That means it could provide defense against Bassoon and Konkurs ATGMs, but would do nothing against Malyutkas (MCLOS), Kobra/Agona (radio-guided) or Svir/Refleks (laser-guided) missiles.
