When and why exactly was it removed?
Same. I went to play my 8th deck and noticed it wasn't there. Pretty annoying actually.
It has always been incredibly useful. I often get an air kill on each sortie with them. Fact is they have like 8 of them and they are all autonomous (doesn't need the plane to hold target). They heavily nerfed them in recent updates though and they have a very long turn over speed now, along with only 2 being available.
Wait. I could've sworn it had 2x anti-radar missiles.
I could've sworn that the Raven has 2x HARM's and that I've actually gotten radar kills with them.
With the new trait system, we're considering ways to reintroduce the Raven at a latter date with a dedicated EW trait.
EDIT: actually, it is duly mentionned in the patchlog:
But the MIG 31 is historically correct??? Cool!
Pretty cool how 8th gets one of their fun toys taken away, not for balance reasons but "historical accuracy". Meanwhile the KA-50 gets a big fat alt-history pass in the game that apparently puts historical accuracy over balance...
