How to unlock all units?
In Airland battle I'm used to being able to use all units when designing a battlegroup.
In this game, like in Steel Division 2, I see there are "divisions" with limited list of equipment available. So I am wondering, how does one unlock "new divisions" for the rest of the equipment? I currently only get 3 for the US, USSR etc.

Not a thing without mods. Check the workshop there are a few that will allow that but they won;t let you enter MP lobbies unless everyone else is using the same mod.

What is the reason behind this? I'm guessing because the devs haven't put together more divisions yet?

Instead of whole nations, this time it is Divisions only. Supposed to be accurate to what that division had, but Eugen just put whatever they want in anyway. So whatever is in that division is it. You cannot mix divisions or units from the same nation, or even mix like in RD(coalitions)

The battlegroup system is just There to provide more realistic system, instead of having people be able to put whatever units they want. Each battlegroup has different units and availability of units. some battlegroups will have more tanks and better tanks options than some, others for example will have more and better infantry but less armor. I know there is paratrooper battlegroups that focus on infantry, helicopters, and jets. the paratrooper battlegroups allow you to deploy infantry and certain units further than normal at the start of the game. Just try them out and see what battlegroups you like.

So we don't have the Wargame-syndrome of players grabbing top-tier units from countries across the globe and mashing them together in a lurching, Frankenstein-esque abomination of a military force. ;)

Divisions also allow Eugen to make easy $ from copy-paste division DLC like they did in SD2. :lunar2019coolpig:

I am not against the divisions, I was just wondering why there are only 3 for the big factions, making certain units completely locked away without mods.

That's a point of contention I would say among the WARNO community. Eugen claimed before release that the game would focus on and be accurate to 1989, meaning fewer units in the game. The problem is that post 1989 equipment has still made it into WARNO here and there, resulting in a game that is not accurate to 1989 and yet still lacks the variety of RD.

it is purely a DLC design decision. Same as SD2

I was not aware of this. So there are enough divisions so each unit is allocated to at least one division?

What units aren't in any division? Obviously units in the game are in at least one division. If they aren't in a division, they aren't in the game.

Yes make sure your game is updated to the current version.

there are currently 6 PACT battlegroups and 10 NATO battlegroups. Go into the main menu and go into armory, at the very bottom press battlegroups.

Most battle groups will share common units like AA, jets, artillery, and transports but some battlegroups will have units other battlegroups won't get.

That is just proof that there are many people who are mind boggingly stupid. Red Dragon only had so many units because it copy&pasted units from the 2 previous Wargames. A sensible person would therefore compare Warno with European Escalation. EE had roughly 350 units, Warno has already over 700.

So no reason to complain. Unless you're a dumbass.
