Some maps already have weather effects.
You just sound like you have no idea what you're talking about when you say that it is impossible. It's definitely not considering it's already in the game and you can do anything through programming. It's okay not to know something, but don't make wild blanket statements like this without any prior knowledge... No offense intended, but seriously make sure you know what you're talking about. This is something that as a developer myself, drives me nuts when I hear people say it.
I believe volcano is one of the raining maps if I'm not mistaken but go check for yourself.
Eugen Systems develop quick! After this "remastered Wargame" + map editor + modbase is somewhat at a "golden status", they need a new focusing.
I dont believe they will try another AoA type of game sadly.
I think, in a frame of 3,4,5 years they might reach the point to do wheather instead properly;
I can imagine, that they could want something change the time frame at some point.
18. Cent. was in discussioin, or even medival wargame;)
but they have somewhat hard time to place new francise to the market. So they need polish their current things further if they cannot do the former. At this point, wheather and more "periphery game addings" would be the thing everybody wants.
I Mean, wheather as a "decorative" element is not much impressive. its better if it causes lots of twists inside gameplay ofc.
That is I'm talking about. It is GFX at best.
Did you experience sound supression or visible distance decrease?
Or low clod layer which prevent using air force?
Or slower vehicle movement at a specific zone?
probably yes, but would require some custom coding and making sure the mod tools don't freak out over it. they leave a lot to be desired.
