The scale and location of the game simply makes then NOGO.
For Gode Sake even modeling the short range land based SAMs are not performed well...
Then maybe incorporate them into their own game mode such as naval battles. Like taking out a fleet group with planes loaded with glide weapons such as the AGM-158C LRASM (this is an example. this wouldn't be a specific weapon ingame as it postdates the games era)
Maybe harpoon loadouts for sea planes would be a good concept for a ship based strike mission gamemode.
So if I told you I wanted an airplane tech tree added to world of tanks would you tell me to go play War Thunder? No! that is not a valid excuse. There is always room for expansion of game-play.
Also, please list me these "tons of existing" simulators.
Off the top of my head:
Released:
Cold Waters
Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts
Command: Modern Operations
Currently Unreleased:
Sea Power: Naval Combat in the Missile Age
Aircraft Carrier Survival
There are others, but I'm not going to bother. C:MO might be too indepth and frankly is more of an operation sim than anything else. I enjoy it though. Helps with research in some ways.
It is more true to say that you want to turn the game into something it isn't.
It is beyond illogical to have naval units in this setting, except for maybe amphibious.
So while it is fair to want this or that in a game you like, maybe don't try to cram your wants down the throat of a game where this makes the least sense of all the weird suggestions?
Edit:Words, apologies
That is exactly why I suggested a separate gamemode for naval units to wall them off from the standard experience. Maybe even DLC wall them, who knows? It might just work.
Also if it doesn't make sense at all, how does it exist in Wargame Red Dragon? The predecessor of this game. Albeit it barely functions as intended in the game, you can still make for a few cool battles with them.
CMANO/CMO is more or less a glorified HOI4 but modernized and more statistical then visually appealing. Also, the military only version which is used by the DOD and US Military branches is farther different. CMANO/CMO is basically a tabletop version of what the WG tries to accomplish. I don't see it as a standalone naval war simulator either. What about more of the 3D simulators? Ultimate Admiral Dreanoughts is constrained to the pre-WW1-WW2 era time frame, I'm looking for an unlimited simulator which isn't bound to era's. Or more so a modern era like this game is taken place in.
Also, using the non-commercialized version of C:MO for research only goes so far data wise. The version military organizations use have almost 100% accurate data on weapons/planes/war-related tech
Also, how do YOU know what the game is or isn't when its still in EARLY ACCESS. Hmm? care to explain?
Firstly, a game is defined by many things, not just what you have summed up all on their own. Also the post stated that you reference is as follows:
