WARNO
Will this game contain fast-rope since it is a spiritual successor of Wargame Red Dragon?
It'd be nice. If you ask where it'd come in to play. I am sure it would help alot with landing your soldiers in forests (dense).

Also does this game have a navy? I had alot of fun with the navy in WG:RD. It's honestly not the best navy game, compared to others like Janes Fleet Commander. But it's funny and optional.

Can't answer for fast roping (though it would be good). No navy at all (confirmed by the devs)

I hope fast roping is a thing. That'll be really fun.
Sucks to not even have a navy. Not even patrol boats.

There was no fast-roping in Red Dragon, and the devs already said there won't be any in WARNO, either.

It's flashy and makes for good, tense Hollywood action scenes, but it's an extremely bad idea to hover stationary in the air for several minutes while your troopers fasten their harnesses, clip their carabiners to the lines, slowly slide to the ground, unclip themselves from the lines, wait for their colleagues to repeat the process - all while being shot at by AAA and MANPADS. ;)

While I agree that it's risky and that it wasn't in RD I'm afraid that what you describe is abseiling rather than fast-roping. Fast roping is simply sliding down a thick rope hanging from a helicopter, using just your hands to control the descent (soldiers wear extra thick or two pairs of gloves to do this).

Ah, I stand corrected! At the same time, I imagine *most* people are thinking of abseiling when the term "fast-rope" is mentioned.

Also, I can only imagine how much more dangerous fast-roping from height is even if you *weren't* under fire, if you're basically relying solely on your grip-strength to avoid plummeting to your grievious injury and/or death. ;)

It is absolutely more dangerous but it's also significantly faster. The SAS dropped into Gberi Bana to rescue a team of Irish Rangers from the West Side Boys in Sierra Leone in 2000.

Having said all that I don't think we'll see it in WARNO.

No offense. But I'm not talking about fast-roping in the middle of combat. I'm talking about fast-roping at places to flank the enemy. Like the forest. Helicopters cannot land in the forest so fast-rope is the best option.

That sucks, hopefully if WARNO is a "spiritual successor" of WG:RD. Maybe they'll add modding tools and someone (or I, if I can/feel like it) can mod in fast-roping.

Ultra weird to read "abseiling" as a german lol.
