But its of course always sad when you loose options/content in comparison to older games :/
So in conclusion: trowing the navy out was basically the best decision Eugen made.
Naval in RD was quite a big part of the game, considering the larger maps that had see and rivers.
but I must say focusing on land units only plus air may make the game better and easier to manage for newer players,
I don't think people disliked the idea of it.
Eugen could make a naval only game. But again, Those don't sell well I imagine.
Make spherical maps and stuff, would be sweet.
I have never seen a comprehensive servey on those issues so I only know I enjoyed it
But in reality. seeing over the horizon. That is why Radar masts are put high on the ships.
Aircraft will have an huge advantage in recon but are blind to Submarines but spotted sooner then a boat would be at same distance if far enough below horizon.
Unlike Helicopters with ASW sensors.
It'd be pretty sweet.
If you surveyed RD players. Majority of them would write off naval.
If you asked anyone else though, it'd probably seen as good to be ambitious.
