Game Development Abandoned?
Theres a negative recent steam review stating the developers arent continuing to work on this game? Is there any truth to this?

The game is not abandoned and will receive more content in the future, including additional creatures and decorations. However, there will be no further gameplay development. The early access phase clearly showed that there isn’t a large enough player base to justify extensive updates. The app will be maintained by the developers and supported through our mobile aquarium apps, which are based on the same engine.

Ahhh okay! Thank you for clarifying <3 Glad to hear its not entirely being left alone! Hopefully someday it gets the justified traction and developmental gameplay can continue <3

Maybe the player base is so small because this game does not offer any long term fun at all. I bought this game, played if for a few hours and, once my aquarium was finished, there was nothing to do anymore, so I uninstalled it.
I asked the devs to add a way to breed and sell fishes. With the money earned, players could buy new stuff to decorate or upgrade their fish tanks.
That would have given me some long term motivation.
In future, I will make sure to not buy an unfinished game anymore which is in early access.
The excuse, that the player base was too small, did not prevent the developer from accepting my money.

if they added the progression elements like in the fish farm series (levelling, money, experience, etc.) it would drastically increase the play time as you always have something to work towards. as it currently stands, it looks like a sandbox with no real goals.

Personally, I love the sandbox aspect. Some of us just want to put together a good-looking tank and enjoy it :)

I prefer the simulator to try tanks that I would like to realise in future in reality ^^ . But good to see that both aspects exist, sandbox and simulator

The games with the longest staying power and largest followings are the ones that allow modding. That gives a player unlimited playability.

You might really like Rimworld. It takes some folks a lonnnnng time to load up all the mods they use. And has DLC's as well.

I have only had the aquarium for a short time, but I would like to make a suggestion. If you have the idea of introducing new species, you could introduce stages of development of some species. For example: Discus fish. The stages could be pregnant female, egg (maybe two or three per clutch), fry, and the fish in various stages of development. Without, I think, adding complications to the design of the game, I think this could add to its appeal.
