OpenGL Error
Hi everybody,

I can not start Dune, because of a missing OpenGL driver. I use parallels on my mac to emulate Windows.

I'm getting the following error: The application was unable to create an OpenGL context for your Parallels Display Adapter (WDDM) video card. OpenGL 3.2+ is required, please update your driver.

Does anybody had this problem and can help me to fix it. I tried to install some drivers from the store, but it hasn't work.

Best, Laurian

Is this a new error for you? Somewhat related but OpenGL stopped working on the Steam Deck version, I've had to start using the direct x version which uses more CPU/GPU.

I just buyed the game today. And I want to use it in Parallels Desktop on my Mac, and I have this curious message that not happen with others games.

Sorry I'm a bit ignorant with paralles, but can you use DirectX with it? If so go into the Spice wars folder and there should be an options.ini file in there, change the "driver" section to DirectX (remember the Capital D and X)
Hi. Thank you Will for your answer, but there isn't any options.ini in D4X folder. I search on all c:, and found nothing.

Oh right, that is strange, maybe it's made on first launch of the game? try creating a file called options.ini in your D4X folder, opening it and then pasting everything below the dotted line into it and saving. Obviously do this at your own risk. Also you might want to change Resolution to your specific resolution. I can't really help beyond this but I hope it fixes it for you.

Thank you Will !!!
It worked. I still have the error message but the game launch and I can play.
Oh... I spoke to quickly. I can see the menu, but after launching a game, it's the same problem with the same error message and the app shutdown. I will have to wait until a real mac version.

Sorry to hear that Corben :-( Hopefully Shiro will sort it out soon as it's stopped working on my Steam Deck in openGL mode (which gave much better battery life) so I had to do the above fix to get it running in DirectX instead.
In the meantime, you can use Boosteroid or GeForce Now on your mac. Works on both well.
