How to Relocate Castle

It says I have to place all structures before I can move, but I can't place all structures. What's going on?

I had the same with two walls left over. It relocated and the materials from the two remaining walls were in my bag. Hopefully it does the same for you!

How does it work exactly? Do you get to literally teleport the castle as it is, or does it give you all your furniture and let's you place them wherever you want? Meaning you can change the layout entirely?

Relocation steps:
Leave current castle with some blood essence (100 I believe) to craft the relocator and head to your new base location.
Place the relocator and interact with it - select your old castle to transfer.
The game does not move your base - instead it lists all the items you used and you may now build your new castle using all previously built parts.
Place all desired parts - anything left over or missing will be in a new item at the end of your build menu called 'Travel pack/bag' (or something similar). - Place this item down and it will be filled with any remaining items/resources.
Go to your relocated heart and interact with it - click on relocate to complete the process.

Thanks for the info. So you are allowed to build your relocated castle in whatever way you want. No need for it to transfer the same.

I am still in Farbane Woods, any scenic locations to recommend for relocating? I was thinking the Dunley Farmlands since its central, but I haven't been there yet.

My recommendation, after having a HUGE headache, is to actually destroy all the walls in your current castle and put everything in boxes and only then do the move.

You'll be requested to rebuild everything when you move, so I just had to put all my floors and walls randomly, completed the move, and then had to remove them all to actually build my new castle.

Next time I need that, I'll just destroy everything and try to pack things as much as possible, only then I'll move, so I'll only have to place some boxes around before moving

If on your first castle you had 30 walls, aren't you allowed to place those 30 walls wherever you want at the new location?

The first time I tried relocating the blood press wasn't highlighted for some reason and it was asking for 1 more placement, so just double check to make sure you placed all major stuff it's asking for I guess.

You just need to place all your crafting/refinement/storage stuff. Some of it will be greyed out.

Walls/etc. do not count towards the important structures list.

Sorry for necro, only recently joined the game.
I've only relocated once, but essentially I had to rebuild the castle wall by wall. Is this the only way? (I did use the relocation heart)

I've put some time and effort in, and got my castle just the way I like it. It'd be a bit too exhausting if I have to rebuild the entire layout again.

Yes, when you move the castle, it is rebuilt "wall by wall" and in no other way. Otherwise, the developers would have to make all the locations available for construction of the same shape and size.
