I don't get it.

Not being funny but how are you supposed to play this game? Every server has all spaces for building a castle taken and that is part of tutorial. Just end up wandering around into areas with skull enemies that 1 shot looking for a plot.

There a couple of things you can do. You can have your own game world, find a less populated server or go further in to.the game to build a base. Most populated servers are going to be filled up in the tutorial areas but will eventually migrate since bases can be relocated. One thing I wish we could still see, or atleast I didn't notice earlier, is the plots that are taken up already and which ones are available.

Its always been a problem with this game, you either have to build outside a plot while waiting for a plot to open up.
Its the biggest frustration, as there are only a handful of decent plots worth building on.

The servers could do with like layering. So you can get high populated servers but with say like 16 channels (layers). So you can sort of phase in and out of your specific layer when entering your base or something. While not being forced onto a "dead" server and hoping people slowly join it.

It's like any survival game really where base-building is a thing. The best spots are going to get snatched up real fast. Especially since this is the 1.0 release, a lot of people will be playing again and new players will be flooding in. You're going to have to build in less desirable places and hope to either raid someone if you're on a server with raids or hope people start decaying and then just move into their spot.

Otherwise your only solution is to change servers to something less populated.

Its a survival game. Play it solo on your own machine as its supposed to be played. Online playing survival games with random (stupid/angry/dumb/mean) people is a bad idea anyway.
