Can you disable decay?

Seen videos and what set me off big time was the base needing upkeep.
Well I get the mechanic on online servers and limited space with multiple clans and all that. When players decide to not play any more that area ius cleared for others.

But for private server or solo play that is a nuisance. So can you configure your game to turn that off?

Just ignore it and keep a chest with some blood essence in it next to the core for when you need to activate it.

Not if you're alone on a private server.

You can turn off decay, and you can turn the blood drain down to 0.1, also if you solo play your server is only up while you are on, so even just killing 10 wolves will allow you to go 12 hours of ingame time without throwing more blood into it.

The amount of blood essence you get per kill is around 15 or so on average (for me anyways). With 4 stacks of 250 essence, you have a full 5 days of protection. 1000/15 = 66.6. This means you need to kill about 67 human enemies to be able to fully power your castle heart. It's not thaaaat bad.

It takes maybe an hour or 2 at most to kill enough people to get the essence you need. Anything after that is just extra.

Here's an easy thing for you to do. First go hunt down a boss or 2, then once you have some decent powers you can go to the copper mine and murder EVERYONE there. You can do this while farming copper so it's 2 birds with 1 stone. Simply killing the entire camp will net you with an easy 500 essence.

Yeah, if you're the only one playing on the server then time stops when you quit (unlike, say, EVE Online) - besides, blood essence is ridiculously plentiful, especially after getting a Blood Press. I had to make a separate chest just to store it all. So no worries, base upkeep will be the least of your worries.
