The FP2 console release will likely have the same active player numbers and is also highly unlikely to reach the first game's 4.5+ million sales.

To use an analogy, coffee is excellent. Coffee blends with varying flavors and potency are also excellent because they are still coffee at the end of the day. With Frostpunk 2, you tried to sell coffee-flavored yogurt. Sure, there's an audience for that, but clearly not enough to warrant the drastic changes to the formula that worked so well.

I hear that the game has recouped its development costs. I hope there is a Frostpunk 3 and that it brings back what made Frostpunk 1 so good. I urge the developers to learn from this failure to cater to their cultivated audience and return to the series' roots. Otherwise, Frostpunk 3 will be DOA, and you're better off not trying.
