There's absolutely no variation here.... anyone know what might be happening to get static set ups on what's supposed to be randomly seeded maps?
Geothermal wells have no use when spawned at the fuel colony:P
This would be an improvement over what's happening across all the test games I've run where in I get the VERY SAME resource spread, in the same locations, every time. Like clockwork. I'm not finding ANY variation no matter how many games I start on any of the 4 random maps. So if you've been able to get a geothermal spot to randomly appear at the oil colony, I haven't been able to. It's always consistent no matter what and I'm trying to figure out why.
The fuel colony can use the geothermals too unless I am mistaken.
Are you able to elaborate on this. Are they different but also static within those individual difficulty settings? And how are they different. Less of them? Less within them? Different altogether ?
Also, thank you for actually addressing the topic of this thread and answering the point of all this. Not here to talk about geothermals on an oil map or prefab shortages lol
See, this is what I was afraid of. Currently the tool tip directly differentiates by use of "AND"
It says "Randomised resources AND Frostland" , which is misleading if what they actually meant was "Randomized resources IN the Frostland". Which is boring because then there's going to be an optimal way to play each of those maps which I was hoping to avoid. The random Frostlands does help a bit but that's just not quite the same. I'm currently trying to do a run on the shore that doesn't involve going out into the Frostlands at all so I was curious.
Have you been able to get screenshots of this working? Because as you'll see above.... I have shown 2 different screenshots, two of my 10 new games on the Broken Shore map and everything is precise. Static. The same.
This occured across all 10 games.
Across each of the 4 maps listed above.
I am not finding ANY variance whatsoever and I still haven't been able to get anything to change on any of the maps. So either something isn't triggering the randomness on my end or something is wrong because right now my results are showing a quantifiable pattern of no randomization.
No, I haven't bothered since it is, indeed, working for me. However, I've seen someone else post exactly what you're asking for within the past 24 hours. Sorry I don't recall which thread, but feel free to look for it.
{EDIT: Found it. And it's not only in a thread you posted to, it's in reply to you. Did you just completely miss it or are you trolling?]

Oh wow thank you! I did, indeed miss this reply. Steam isn't the best at tracking replies etc unless I'm missing a fetaure or toggle somewhere. Thank you for pointing this out! I am glad it's working on your end, at least.
Can I ask what difficulty you're playing on? All of my attemped trials at getting different resources have been on the easiest difficulty. Maybe on easy mode they give you the best possible outcome in static locations?
