utopia endless mode

so i'm closing in week 3000 to unlock endless mode in utopia builder, but nothing of the sort is happening, does anyone know when ending happens? or do you need to do something
i have whole map explored and that "quest" on the left all done

I think becoming the captain will give you the option to end or continue the gameplay.

A few weeks after reaching week 2.000, I got an event about the Steward feeling old and tired. Then I got to choose between going out into the Frostland to die in 5 weeks, preparing a successor and then retire in 50 weeks (I don't really remember how much though) or fighting through and leading until a natural death after even more weeks. I chose to just walk into the frost and then the game ended after 5 weeks, and I unlocked the Endless mode option.

Well, I think there may be different ending scenarios. One scenario I have been through was that I became the captain and repelled one extreme faction to another colony and let them survive themselves. You can either help them survive by providing supplies or hand them over the total sovereign power so they have to survive themselves without your aid. Then the game gives you options to choose either to end the game or to continue.
