What happened to the unlimited resources?
Eventually you will run out of food and materials.
Those extra bonus buildings are not enough .
I want unl. resources back.

you will still have unlimited resource if you do one of the two exclusive research in the heat section wich one of them transform some outposts as settlement and can be upgraded where the other one give you a specific building for district that you can put on specific district that have have the underground resource tile in it

Yeah but 2 unlimited deposits for food may as well be none; I can't feed my city. Just ran out of stockpile and now I'm pretty sure I can't pass the final resolution.

You can add buildings to distincts which produces food. The real bottleneck is not food but fuel.

It all depends on what choice you made in the start, if you embrace the frost your pretty much ♥♥♥♥♥♥ sooner or later when food runs out and there is 0 food sources left... only food option left is the 2 deep mine ones in new london which they refuse you to research because your embraced the frost... glad i waited for the game to be on pc pass because this was kind of a let down.

Or at the very least be able to upgrade those settlement nodes to extract more resources faster. Been trimming the extra infrastructure and managing goods and prefab construction to a minimum. I know the developers want to keep the players on their toes but at some point the tables have to tilt in your favor to a surplus of resources produced. Like a happily ever after. Frostpunk 1 was like that eventually, assuming you don't take in too many people.

If you pick the embrace frost option, then you can upgrade all overworld food source to be infinite.

I had no options for that, they just hunted them until it was dry and lost forever. Only infinite food source on overworld is the whales which grants you 100 food ?

You dont get it instantly the second you pick the path, its a research focus, after you complete it, you can then upgrade non depleted sources to infinite.

building hothouses on the second spot of a food district with already a deep drill installed does nothing. The deeptdrill is the only thing that can Collect from deep source.
That is why that guy say 2 infinite node is not enough.

And I tend to agree. Fuel and Food are a bottle neck even with 6 advance fracturing pumjack. On the cdolonies.

Only material can be managed thanks to building like recast factories and more.

Heat may be managed with adaptation skill zeitgeist which reduce heat needs.
But food.... their is not much.

I finished my captain game, and heat and food was the only main problem. But with enough trust and tension management, you finish the game early enough before heat and famine does its damage.

And in Utopia, those or not a problem

I suppose this is gonna be captain hindsight, but if you dont destroy your exhausted food districts you can still keep using them for food houses.

After many years since Frostpunk 1, what do the devs come up? Imperialism simulator. Yeah, I wish I didn't pre-order this ♥♥♥♥ (GOG).

Nothing makes sense.
You want resources? Go colonize.

You want research? You have sh*t-stains for factions each trying to "build the city in my sh*tty image".

Who the f*ck has time to bicker over such stuff in the apocalypse? "NO AUTOMATION". "YES AUTOMATION". "COMMUNISM". "CAPITALISM". "MY WAY". "THE HIGHWAY". How about, "F*CK ALL OF YOU SHUT THE F*CK UP OR DIE".

Instead of a complementary system of ideas we get this american election theater bullsh*t in a f*cking game right now.

WTF is there a council for?

WTF are heatstamps?

You lack workforce because you build houses? Housing districts need workforce?

The UI tells you f*ck all because everything needs to be aggregated behind something because the system is bloated with politics.

Did a politician consult during the making of this?

How do you get something so right the first time, then take the momentum from that and go full throttle into the side of a mountain?

I hate games that assume you should know everything. If you don't play the "INTENDED" way, you have a to restart the game from the beginning to avoid unclear pitfalls that are never communicated properly. Did I mention the UI is meaningless? Am I trying to manage resources or f*ckwad factions? The factions take more screen space than the game itself. F*cking hell.

Only certain spots. Most of the small hunting spots can't be upgraded to depletable. In fact the only food settlement I found was Jonah's Whaletown which produces 300 food fully upgraded. Needless to say I took too long and exhausted all other food then everyone starved.

Frostpunk 1 was apocalypse, Frostpunk 2 makes a big deal in the intro of telling you that ALOT of time has passed, generations has come and gone, the old captain died of old age. People are not longer just clinging on to life, they have settled into their new existence. And as such they are not debating what the path forward is that they are not facing immediate death.

Frostpunk 1 was measured in days, Frostpunk 2 is measured in weeks and years. 1 was about just living to the next day, this game is about preventing your society from collapsing.

Its suppose to be a difficult game, its limited how difficult it can be if you are able to just ♥♥♥♥ around however you want and still come out on top. Theres not just "1" way to do things, but yes you cant keep doing suboptimal things and expect to win a hard game. If you just want to decorate your city under no pressure then maybe farmville is more the game for you.
