Barely works on minimum settings... With 32gb ram, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU

Hey everybody,

Has anyone else had issues with performance on this game? I have it all set to minimum / lowest settings and I still get a framerate of like 1 frame a second, it is totally unplayable. I have updated drivers, tinkered with settings, done everything I can think to do and it still plays like I'm trying to play it on a 15 year old PC.

I'm on an HP Spectre, windows 11. The graphics card stays right at 41C, but the 3D is maxed out whenever I'm playing it. Has anyone else faced similar issues? I have been looking forward to this game for a while and this laptop should absolutely have the horsepower to play it, but I can't figure this out.

I know it can smoothly run with lower hardware than that. You most probably have a problem.

I found disabling analytics helped a bit with freezing - i think the game is constantly pinging to a server and sending data back to the devs to help with work on patch fixes.

Please send a screenshot of the error or a video of the issue and your DxDiag file as well, as a crash dump or any logs that should be found here:
C:\Users\***YOUR USERNAME***\AppData\Local\11bitstudios\Frostpunk2.

To create a DxDiag file:

• Click on Start
  
• Type “DxDiag” and launch DxDiag
  
• Click on “Save all information”
  
• Save “Dxdiag.txt” file

I emailed the support team as well. For anyone else with similar problems - youtube led me to delete the "Config" file in
Users\you\AppData\Local\11bitstudios\Frostpunk2\Steam\Saved.
Worked like a charm.... At least for now, it runs just fine. Strange.
