Help me understand Extraction District Buildings
Hey folks, can someone explain to me the difference between Dust Coal Mine and Charcoal Regeneration Plant?

While researching the latter I thought it would be able to function from my material storage.... but it doesn't. If built on an extraction district with no surface materials it just says "No access to deposit"
Building it on a new material extraction district doesn't make sense over just building a dust coal mine.... ??

Dust Coal Mine:
Requirements: 400 workforce
Demand: 20 materials
Output: 150 Coal, Disease^^

Charcoal Regeneration Plant:
Requirements: 400 workforce, 20 materials
Demand: 20 heat
Output: 150 Coal, Disease^^

-----
Isn't this later technology, the Charcoal Regeneration Plant, just worse? They both need 20 materials and produce 150 coal and 2 levels of disease.... But the Charcoal Regen Plant ALSO requires 20 heat.....

In my opinion, the Charcoal Regeneration Plant should be a building for the Industrial district.

Yes! Agree! This is what I thought it was!

So, am I understanding it correctly? Charcoal Regeneration Plant atm is just strictly worse than a Dust Coal Mine??
It seems exactly the same inputs and outputs except Charcoal Plant requires and additional 20 heat.

I'm not sure, because I've never used. Perhaps the advantage is that the Regen Plant won't consume the coal deposits? If this is true, then the advantage would be that the deposits would last longer. But I still think it would fit better in the Industrial xD

If it does that it reads very badly. x. x I'm confused
The Dust coal mine uses a local Coal resource node

the other burns either wood or just materials

Yea after testing it a bit I did see that you can't just place them on any extraction district.

The Charcoal Regeneration Plant requires an active surface level wood deposit.
They should clarify this in the description when researching/building
its explained what it does by the description with the understanding you can create charcoal by burning wood
