Is that a thing? I didn't remember I can choose anything when I researched lv2 generator upgrade. When it was lv2 it could be selected and switching among coal/oil/steam to be optimized without problem.
I think he missed the part in your post where you already state that you are using the lvl 2 upgrade with no change in the use of fuel, only their efficiencies. I personally haven't used the Adaptation lvl 3 generator cause I don't play that way, but I've seen similar posts before that people complain it not working properly after lvl 3 upgrade, and always only using oil. Probably something the devs get fixed, hopefully soon. You can always just make another bug report about it of course, just to make sure they know of the issue. I would guess the reason is that even if you do choose coal or steam as your preferred fuel, the lvl 3 generator has oil be always the most heat efficient one no matter what choice you have selected, just that the oil is not as efficient as it would be when oil is chosen. But I don't know, since again, I have not used the Adaptation lvl 3 generator. Like to go Progress too much.
yep. I guess that is the reason.
BTW Progress is quite underwhelming imo because permanent settlements are too powerful
Edit: I can access to Deep deposit mining in current Adaptation Utopia run but idk I could access Settlement Heating in Progress.
In Utopia both Settlements and Deep mining are available, they are only locked out if you don't research them before you kick a Faction specific to them out of the city, or choose a zeitgeist Cornerstone ability, which blocks you from doing opposing research. So if you just research both quickly, you can use both for the remainder of that playthrough.
If this is intended, then please make that clear with a big fat attention marker.
Since upgrading to lvl3 I cannot use anything else then oil and so i have to priorityze oil until I run out of oil and have stockpiled 1m coal and not used steam at all in that time... that just feels so wrong
