Yes, i do get locked out of certain research, but i ended up with rallies and a new faction spawning.
its absolutely a competitive strat when done correctly.
By simply researching and building buildings that certain sides like, their trust goes up. Esp since i didn't ask them for any heat-stamps.
Hilarious, but it works.
Certain pop-ups even still refer to the 'council hall', yet it does not exist.
by not building one i'm not forced to pass any laws.
The parts of the research tree i'm locked out from are not super-critical.
By not building council hub, my faction happyness is high across the board. Check my latest screenshots and you'll see one. I was even playing endless on the dread-map.
Think of it as ''extreme political stability at the cost of only having default laws enabled''.
Some watch towers, a fighting hub and a coms hub and i'm golden.
The game has pop up events referring to a built council hub that isn't there.
I've bypassed a huge amount of content from the game.
I would love, absolutely LOVE it if this playstyle was explored more. If 'lawlessness' became an ever increasing problem. Perhaps a ''no council hall built'' debuff to crime would be good.
Also : the 'no child law' even never triggered. I guess their mum told them to behave?
....it's why the original captain died right? ....
