Defeat/embrace frost decision -) opposite Winterhome decision- doable or very hard?
Ok my question is, let's say I side with Stelwarts to Defeat the frost, but later I side with Pilgrims to settle Winterhome. Is it doable even for average player or actually really hard?

I did that. It's very doable, although I had the 'reconciliation' endgame option greyed out, and I wonder if that was what did it.

In my gameplay the faction was pissed off, but I had the reconcilliation option.

Probs because both were too pissed (like high fevor + dislike you), or only one of them.
Could also be that you already choose a Zeitgeist maybe? Spitballin here.

Yeah, that was my first thought, but I hadn't gotten any Zeitgheists yet (or at least I don't recall them activating and I can't see the power buttons anywhere that would indicate that they were on), Tension was at zero, and everyone was at gold rep, though not maxed.

Honestly just seems like a bug, but I'm hoping I overlooked something.

If "reconciliation" endgame option is greyed out it's most likely because you have one Final Law for maxing Zeitgheists or have Radical Law/Building.

It made it easier for me. The first choice just gives you which generator option you get. The second choice determines which faction will try and sabotage you in Winterhome. The reconciliation option should be there if you keep your trust in the gold and your fervour low. Doing this will allow you to run New London using oil and Winterhome using steam/coal for better heating efficiency.

sure, but you the big problem here is, that if you go full oil and then go for settling winterhome, you probably have hard time to have enough steam cores, no?

Probably true, but the opposite is more than doable. And then, you banish one faction so that you still get more than one big colony, with both places more politically stable. Adaptation people still have their way and Progress people can at least try whatever they want in their own place.

Wait, passing/building anything Radical blocks it? I thought that a PART of doing that ending was demolishing your radical buildings?

No, not just building a radical building, but reaching and endorsing a zeitgeist capstone choice. You have to fully fill a zeitgeist jauge, then wait a little for an offer to fully endorse it and you will see in the idea trees that one of the trees has at its center a button (replacing the two opposite zeitgeists of this tree). Click on it and boom. I'm not sure it's ever possible to choose reconciliation passed this point (which is kind of the point anyway).

That's the thing I thought might have been the case, but while the meter is full, I can't see any indication of it actually being active.

I think it MIGHT be a bug because at one stage I DID get the prompt to accept/deny two of the Capstones, and promptly did. Except I then reloaded a save to a slightly earlier time before I accepted them. So now I don't have the option for Reconcilliation OR Capstone powers. Which makes me wonder if the game's flagged some sort of marker that wasn't reset correctly when I reloaded.

That wouldn't be the first incorrectly reset marker, so I guess it's entirely possible. If you still have the save, I'd suggest to report the potential bug and let the studio investigate the save file.
