That being said, it would be nice when you start a game to choose from a selection of bonuses, maybe with downsides to go with them. That would increase replayability and encourage different play styles.
But realistically that would probably move development time away from some of the core stuff that would make the game great and I'd rather they did what they planned on doing well rather than compromise on that to implement our requests, even if they are good ideas. There's hope that this time they will make the game possible to mod (one of the things sorely missing from the first game) so somebody could mod in these ideas eventually. If these ideas were on the workshop I'd subscribe.
