so its better to take your time like me and enjoy horizontal progression.
Just take the game at your own pace, don't read into ppl saying it's impossible to do so and so. I started the game cause several of my friends were playing it, I didn't expect to enjoy as much as I have.
You can get to endgame as a f2p, but just keep in mind, depending on how many alts you plan to make, how much time you plan to sink in, and somewhat how lucky you can get with honing your gear, the amount of time it takes to reach endgame might differ.
As an f2p, I have my main and 5 alts to funnel mats which allows me to do endgame content. I also got a bit lucky with honing my gear. However, don't feel pressured to spend or need to play extra hours because you want to immediately do endgame content day 1.
You could be making more gold selling the raw materials on the market instead of crafting potions. In fact, you shouldn't really run out of blue potions or even purple ones at 50 because of how many boxes of potions the devs give out to you.
Yeah I seem to just enjoy travelling around the game map and such. Almost like an exploration game. I seem to do things like visit other people's strongholds just to see how they decorated it and such. It has given me ideas on how to set up mine.
As for selling materials vs selling potions, I have found that the price of potions is quite volatile and if you can time it, it will sell for much more than the raw materials. I keep an Excel sheet of the price of the materials and potions. I buy material if it goes below a certain price and make and sell potions if they go above a certain price using the materials that I bought. It actually works quite well and has earned me gold without having to spend that much time foraging (I still do it for the exp). It will probably pale to the gold that can be earned running endgame dungeons and raids but for my pre-50 level character, I find it to be more than enough to feed my engraving collection and stronghold research builds.
I still have all the potion chests I have received over the weeks playing the game. Have not opened one yet since I don't seem to need them at this time. Will keep them for later when I need to use them.
Once my Deathblade hits 50, I probably will make my first alt. The nice thing is, there is so much to look forward to, I probably wont get bored with the game or burn myself out.
Best wishes to everyone in their gameplay.
But the thing that makes me most gold at this time is Battle items. The price on those things fluctuates like crazy and can skyrocket up. So I just watch what is in demand, and make a few of those things to sell. You need some gold to do this since making items costs gold. However, you can make a decent amount of gold with that. I just look up the average price of the materials needed to make the item, add them together, add the fee to make the item and the fee to sell the item (5%) and then figure out how much it costs to make the item. Then I record it in Excel. When I see that the market price of that item has gone up (can go as high as 5 - 10 x the cost to make) then I go make it and try to sell it. I say 50% sell and 50% don't. I usually find the minimum price and sell 1 gold less so that I can get in the front of the line for a sale. So long as it is much higher than the cost to making it, then I don't care if I lose 1 gold per item to get in front of the line. If it doesn't sell then you get your item and your selling fee back so you don't really lose anything. Then I just throw that item into the storage and wait for the price to go up again. If it does, I don't need to even make the item at that time. Overall, if you get used to the prices, you can identify certain items that are in demand. For example for grenades and bombs, if you see one at a price higher than some of the splendid ones, you know it is in demand. I then check to see if it is much higher than the price to make the item and if so, I go sell it at 1 gold less than the going minimum price.
In the same manner, I watch the price of material and if I see that the price of the material goes down below the price I used to calculate the cost to make the items, then I go buy a bunch of that material. It keeps me stocked with enough material to make stuff to sell.
So far with the above methods, I can make a few 1000's gold per week, which for a pre-50 player is enough to keep going in the quests and buy things like engravings or blue crystals.
I do want to eventually experience the legion raid content. But im not all that worried about getting there fast or even soon because im not a fomo kinda guy. Im just playing the game, and having a blast.
Yeah I am looking forward to getting the ship soon. I have like 200 Mokoko seeds so I need to get them traded in. Trying out PvP but getting killed in there so far. Overall, still enjoying this.
