Is the game worth getting into as a new player?

Been seeing lots of negative discussions regarding gate keeping lack of new players etc... wanna know before I decide to go balls to the wall or not.

Depends on you really, do you have time to invest into an Mmo? Sure
If you have an easy time making friends, using discord to get groups going and whatnot , Could be worth your time.
If u don't have the timie to invest or play in the long run, not really.

While I don't have a plethora of time, I do have free time. Hence the question. If there's tons of gate keeping and few new players to level and explore with then Id rather not dedicate the time. But if chances are if I give it some time and look for fellow newbies to party up with etc then Id be happy to play.

Basically I dont wanna try to JUST play to catch up to everyone else. If 90% of the player pop are end game players then Im out if theres still a decent flow of fellow newbies such as myself then no problemo.

I figure Ill just give the game a try tomorrow, downloading it no. Its free so nothing to loose really but Id like to have the opinions of others who've played.

-The story and combat is a bit easy but enjoyable for the first 30ish hours. I highly recommend finding a noob friendly guild. Or when you can chat publicly ingame try to fine people just like you. I heard a lot of matchmaking happens in the official lost ark discord too. Once you start to get comfortable and understand the end game grind, it's up to you to decide if you want to try pushing solo or call it quits if you aren't having fun anymore.

There's plenty of people that help around new players to get their dailies stuff done pretty easily on early tiers as long as you put in a little effort in asking for help , people will go out of their way for a few minutes to do a quick daily guardian or w/e you need.
I would say the gate keeping stuff is 50/50 real, mostly depends alot on how you build your character and if you care enough to use proper stats/engravings or not

Personally despire having 4x3 characters on 2 dps (Since bard is a support and doesn't really matter cause you get into a party anyway) i've had no issues gettin into raids with the 2 4x3's dps , rare sure we would wipe on G2 or something and raid quit but still no issues remaking or finding party.
Keep in mind that its a Korean MMO so grind is real.

You are "FORCED"? to play the game with a story ? In AN MMORPG ? HOW COULD THEY force you to play THRU a STORY on YOUR first Character, Jesus christ how are some of you people even allowed on the internet is beyond me.

I've just about played everyday since release and I can safely say no it's not even worth it. You need to know people that are already playing and hope that they will help you, otherwise you'll be gatekept. I've got 6 characters currently and a lot of the time I'll get gatekept even after 2300+ hours (Haven't put money into the game tho). If you want easy access into public parties at any level, you'll have to play a support character.

facts, Be wary of sugar coaters in this game. Many No-Lifers and Elitists reached Brel Gear and almost close to 1590 across 6 characters. Though they are the most toxic players in the entire game community and exploiting gold through bots and many rewards they get simply by Giga Higher levels. They hardly help carrying new players, but they do carry bots for Argos, etc., for the extra gold they pay. LMFAO!!!

Those very people will come here and praise the game is "All good for new players" but its not. Heck, even the new event doesn't do anything except play a lil girl support to get to 1445 raids quicker, and it feels like mandatory only for that character. Which is total BS. Remember if upgrading chances + gatekeep are worse, there are expensive jewelry with s* quality and stats needed and are sold by these very Elitists and No-lifers.

These Jewelry are hell expensive asf, even with their crap quality and you need crystals->pheons + Gold to buy them. A Legendary ring cost 10 pheons. 3500+ Gold needed (thanks to bots, and the prices are ever increasing) to get 95 crystals == 9 pheons.

It's probably one of the best times for a new player to join the game with the next week's patch that will add passes, story express, free 4x3 engravings to help new players and existing.

One of my friends will be joining me next week as artist.

Started at lunch, dropped off cause im not the biggest mmo fan. Started playing some of the early end game and im enjoying it. However im just mostly here waiting for the new pvp mode.

It has by far the best combat experience of all mmo's out there.
Art is top tier. Story is ok. PvP was equalized but now PVP and PVE are full P2W.
You can reach endgame pretty fast specially with the pass next week.


End game is basically doing the exact same 3 weekly raids on 6 characters

Daily homework : 2 guardians, 2 chaos runs +daily quests on each character (whole thing takes about 20mins/character)

One thing most new players hate is that everything is RNG gated. While honing will eventually hit 100%, EVERYTHING else in the game is rng, even the best event rewards are in random-chests. That said they gave everyone a free nice anniversary skin (you can still get it)

hell nah, people do the same thing on cycle every week, theres MMO's with an actual content and a world that makes you feel like ur around other players.
