Why should anyone play this over DIablo or Grim Dawn?

I've a fair bit of experience with ARPGs and i don't get the hype behind this game. It neither has a stellar artstyle, nor does it look good, nor does it do anything remotely interesting. I've been eyeballing it for a while but it simply looks like a watered down version of Path of Exile.
The MMO aspects of the game appear lacking and i haven't found any MMO-like parts of the game besides 16-man raids and matchmade dungeons. It just looks weird.

How is this so popular and why are people playing it over Grim Dawn or Diablo, hell even over Path of Exile which is also F2P?

From my perspective, it's like this.

I played Diablo, I played Grim dawn. I enjoyed both, but the problem with both is they don't change and their content is solely consistent of doing the same azmadan or town runs to get the gear that you want. Diablo introduced rifts, Grim dawn introduced bounty and further shrine/elite systems to change the flow of things. "Eh" I say to both, because much like always, you're going to become too powerful to even care.

Lost ark however isn't about just being powerful. It's about exploration, being powerful, enjoying the world as it is designed, finding collectibles, forming relationships and of course, playing with friends in either competitive modes, or cooperative ones. But the biggest factor, it's free. All the games are good, but Lost Ark gets my vote in the end.

Because i have already played diablo and grim dawn but i haven't done everything in lost ark yet.

I'm asking about the strong points of this game in contrast to other games in genre which appear to be better made than this game yet had the fraction of the population this game has.

People play this because it has about 0% in common with Diablo or PoE
me having 1800h in Diablo franchise (d2 and d3) and more than 600h PoE
cant find anything in similarity between Lost Ark and ARPGs

So you question is like: why does someone prefer Counterstrike over LoL

These are all action RPGs at their heart, but they all handle their own social aspects, gearing, and competitiveness very differently. It just comes down to personal preference, there is no right or wrong choice here. I love love love Diablo II, Grim Dawn, Titan Quest, and Path of Exile to death. These are all among my absolute favorite video games ever. They all do very different things though that keep me coming back to them.
