I read everything, but I believe I got really tired of reading so much and some information may have skipped unnoticed. My english is very good, but as non-native language sometimes is more tiring to read too much information non-stop.
And the problem is some features were not introduced very well.
Book of coordination and engraving for example...
And the problem is all this information overloaded me and I lost interest of them being so much. And searching on google about everything, which I believe there's plenty of information on the internet...
I just think it was a bit too much between 27 ~ 30.
Maybe the problem is not being a boomer, but your "gamer" generation getting toxic AF.
Why even play a MMORPG if you can't be immersed in its systems? For games like this, the more complex and deep its mechanics and gameplay is, the better. In fact I can't even recall a single decent MMO where some off screen guide or YouTube video isn't required. A MMO where you can take in everything as you play is probably trash tier.
But no rush either. I told my friend the other day I've just been diving into one new system each day. Just to get the hang of it. I feel the need to be overly cautious. There's a lot of stuff they hand out in these type of games and encourage you to equip. But if you go read a guide, using so much of it is in all the Top 10 new player mistakes videos. So wouldn't feel bad for baby stepping it on your own. Despite it all being introduced at once.
Yeah. I hope day by day and step by step I will understand it better. But today it just really threw me away. It was really boring and felt like a bunch of convoluted mobile features instead of interesting ones.
Made me really tired and then I just alt + F4 the game. >:C
Of course I will try to understand later... But didn't like how it discouraged me to keep playing it today.
The ability stone cutting is mainly for your engravings. When you finanly have read 20+ Books of a certain engraving you can now start trying to increase their lvl. Each stone has 3 engravings two that are good and one that is negative. You have to test your luck with either wanting the stone, or cracking a stone. Its rng but you need to know when to cut with a certain % and when to crack.
Market and Auction House isnt really needed until late late game, as the game gives you all the way to tier two game fairly easily.
Guild donations are great for you and the guild you are supporting. There are 3 ways 6000 silver, 100 gold, or one honor. Each gives you a diffrent amount of blood stones for your guild and sypharic crystals to you. Guilds use these bloodstones to upgrade themselves, and the store that guild members can use to sell their crystals for loot. You can do this daily and its super cheap so basically every day you should donate.
Theres also honing which is how you get your 308 IL to 600 just buy honing it or upgrading its I level, and don't worry once you gear better gear you can transfer those levels easily to the new gear.
Ships just know you need to start using your life skills to gain mats to upgrade, and the main diffrence rn is once can go through ice the others can't when you are early game.
I hope this helps you and I hope you enjoy the game like I have at 90 hours!
Just take them one at a time, that's all I can suggest. Start with the stronghold, that's side content related to player housing. It's self-contained and can be focused on without breaking or skipping past anything else. Then mop up yellow and purple quests, the former being inconsequential side quests, the latter mostly showing you new mechanics.
Once you've cleaned all of that out you should have your bearings a lot better. As to the million NPCs and icons that remain unexplained to you... you don't need to know yet, they'll be introduced to you much later on.
Then lastly, progress the main quest.
You are correct, don't listen to the kids calling you names. This is a 4 year old game in Korea. It didn't start out with all this content. It started with MUCH less, and people max it out, then new stuff comes out.. so they learned at a decent pace. here since it is 4 yrs old. We got bombed with a TON of mechanics that are not explained well, not outlined, 99% of the noobs in game have no idea what to do with, and 99.9999% of people trolling in your thread don't know either...
But if you are enjoying the game (and I'd say lvl 30 is not near enough time to make a decision yet). Then just watch some simple youtubes. Don't check out the Maxroll site yet. people all talk about it. it is kinda trash. Its like a less informative, and far more ad based reddit/wiki. Most quests have bare minimum, like a list of the steps in it. But no map, no locations, no clues what to do etc.. Until some reader posts "check the rock, by the third tree, near the 5th goblin NE of the tree you can harvest" etc.
But, the youtubes (recent ones) will answer most of your questions. As to mechanics, if you are overwhelmed now.. I caution you... You will be really really overwhelmed when you hit 50.
I love game too. but it is confusing, and MANY people complain about it. And chat in game is full of people asking questions about it. So disregard typical Steam trolls.
If you have questions you can friend me, and I'll try to answer, but I'm no expert either. but am about 120 hours farther in game than you :) just based on levels lol.
~cheers.
