Good way to purify dark soil?
To start with, I'm not talking about the red-veined stuff that poisons you if you stand on it, I know that the flame talisman takes care of that. But how do you cleanse the blackened soil efficiently? Naia's lifesparks only purifies a tiny bit and I haven't found a good way to cleanse large scale areas yet (aside from purifying springs, but those don't reach everywhere).

That is it. Those are the only two ways. Your not meant to purify the entire world.

Well that's kinda disappointing. I know that asking to plant stuff everywhere would be a tall order, but given that we can kill off all the outposts it'd at least be nice to be able to get rid of the eyesores that are the large swatches of corrupted soil.

I feel like you should definitely be able to purify more efficiently than that, in my opinion. That's kinda the name of the game here.

Eventually (toward the end of the game) you'll get a gear upgrade that will allow you to destroy the other outposts: The Chisel upgrade from Arx

As for purifying the ground.. if you can plant rootbeard nearby it might slowly cleanse the soil. I know this works on small bits of corruption (caused by wraiths) but I don't know how well it will work on the huge areas of corruption.

Oh, I'm aware of how to destroy the outposts, I'd just hoped there was a way to cleanse the land properly. The mountain in particular looks quite awful even with all the outposts destroyed, and small scale cleaning isn't going to help with that.

I eventually managed to clear very small spots with rootbeard, then planted dunegrass in those spots to extend it further. But yeah, anything other than that I don't think will work. Also if the plants die, or are moved, I think the black dead soil will return.

I know this thread is from forever ago, but you can daisy chain wellstones from the nearest spring and release frozen essence in them to clear the blackened wasteland. I don’t know if every spot is reachable from a spring but some definitely are.

Hi! Because of the Herbary page I tried the giant fungi and it actually works.

Cleansing Dunegrass also helps to restore the black soil. I planted one near some black soil and it pushed it back. So in addition to using the Gigantic Fungus and releasing essence from Wellstones, There is another option.
