Okay but where am I supposed to find skytorch trees??
I've been across the dunes, throughout the salt flats, and a large chunk of the canyon.
Are they super rare or something? Or are they in the alpines or whatever the tall mountain region I've decided not to go to yet?

I just want to get my wind cloak upgraded, man.

Addendum: Went to the alpine/high mountains. Climbed the biggest rock I could find. Found some skytorch/birch-lookalike trees.

The Skytorch trees are in the high mountan areas. They are very tall and skinny.

I fiound a bunch far north of the crane teleporter in a mountainous region, as mentored before. You'll pass a ton of outposts and a teleporter (can't recall the name) and head into a narrow valley where rocks fall from cliffs. That's how you'll know you're in the right place. Trees are all near the teleporter. Watch out for the rocks!

Yes. I found them eventually. The trick is knowing they kind of look like birch trees. Not sure why, but I was looking for bushes at first. They are actually in several places, but if you don't know what they look like, they can be hard to find, as those mountains are very difficult to navigate around in.
