There are so many dry seeds out in the wild so if you really want them, just gather 'em.
What the developer said is true. Everything organic dries naturally when it lays around for a long time. Just dump everything in an easy to remember spot and come back later. Use the time needle on that spot if you have it.
Could it be that you want to convert everything to be equal to clear out inventory space? Because that is the real culprit, not that you cannot dry stuff at will. If that is your goal, make everything into fertilizer.
This whole game is about growth. Speeding things up defeats the purpose. Don't confuse it with other games. There are so many real problems to this game but what you said is not one of them.
