how does one increase their character essence cap for crafting

im stuck at 41 essence when some recipes require me to have more on hand

As you complete the main quests it will go up. Mine last night on a new play through was at 78 if I remember correctly after completing Stryge's.

I did that in one of my first play throughs, till I found out one of the tools you get from Gleb will make some of the process soooooo much easier, so then I started over. I have yet to finish the game cause I keep finding better ways to do things, and instead of spending hours fixing it, I just start over lol.

I think that a type of ghost (not sure which) also increases it. I might be misremembering though so don't quote me on that.

the different areas (survial, arcane, spirit) increase hit points, essence etc. When you click on the corresponding marker (under 'M') you can see a lien of text with: "12 found: +24 to hp" or something like that.
