City gate?

I am so incredibly lost on how to actually progress the main quest right now.

It's telling me that I should go to the canyon and check out the wraith things there, gotcha, so I follow the pink meteors back to their point of origin and they're stuck behind a big gate with crystals attached to it and the quest tool tip tells me to look around for a way to break that down. Cool... except there's nothing around the gate that's actually out of the ordinary?

It could be that maybe I've missed it because not exploring in the pitch black of the night gets me punished with accelerated water drain, so I try not to go during the day, and hanging out in the area gets me hit with poison and toxin for no visible reason whatsoever so it's discouraged to try and check it out properly too.

Ok, the way to do it, is to find the bridges above the gates. There are white ghost guards at each one. They will give you quest to do, to open the gates.

Also, If you have invested in learning trinkets, There is a ring to help with the poisoning. Big help for the area.

Marsh Mistberries are a good crop to have for a poison removal snack too.
