How do pipes and windmills work?

so i tried pumping water from a lake over a hill to water the other side of it, i set up the windmills and pipes (and made sure they were flowing the right way), but the water would not come out of the last pipe. so i added on a windmill at the end but water still wouldnt come out. I've made sure to set the water pressure in all the windmills and made sure they were all flowing the right direction but water still wont come out.

Hi imperial! With pipes, they have a limit of 5 before you need to connect with a windmill. You can check the water flow when you hover close to it. There is a water flow effect that you can see the direction of. Please let me know if this helps!! Thanks so much, Howard

also if y put a 3rd windmill between 2 the middle distance i got , sofar was 9 pipe pieces between windmill 2 and 3 kinda like (water)---1-----2---------3---< is the setup i got sofar if i had to visualize it xD and ye dont forget whereva u want water the starting pipe has to be in water and if water is actualy flowing ucan kinda see it splash between pipe segments...soo when do we get irrigation pipes? like it drips a bit of water out around itself would dad be a good or bad idea? or maybe im not ffar enough into game yet xD

I must admit that i'm not a big fan of windmill
At first, i was planing to make a waterfall on mountain
I did 2 lines for a good water output
That worked realy fine, about the flowing, a bit less about the impression to have a real waterfall
Then 2 mains problems occur:
when i was too far, the flowing stopped, making le life line after the fall not so well irrigated
And tempest came, all the pipes were damaged, despite the fact i buried them
Making too much work to maintain that waterfall

After that i restart the game and put those pipe in the black list x)
